The story of this work was initiated in 2013 in Moscow. The work was titled "Attention: the doors are closing! and it was performed by the leading contemporary dance company in Russia, Балет Москва(Ballet Moscow). Its artistic motivation was triggered by the political turmoil around gay propaganda and homophobic oriented violence, very heavy at the time. Today, unfortunately, this is not an issue of the past. Exhausting Space uses the body to explore inter-personal space, a sense of interiority developed in humans thanks to evolution and a kind of intimacy inherent in the way we relate to places, objects and people. The line between intimacy and intimidation is fragile, and we 'humans' seem to still not understand its limits.
