From the vision of choreographer Iván Pérez, dance performances are created in collaboration with artists from other fields. It is founded on the belief that we can redefine ourselves through movement. From the paradox between inner and outer; inne means 'innate' in French, 'other' in Polish. Present in theatres, festivals, on film and unexpected sites around the globe.
"Bodies curious about themselves and their relational nature, opened to the not yet discovered" | Iván Pérez
In the beginning of 2016, choreographer Iván Pérez and cultural entrepreneur Joriene Blom met each other via the European project Pivot Dance. The way in which Iván explores new potential in his creations, is close as to how Joriene develops new ways to build art projects: by engaging (new) audiences and partners both inside and outside the creative scene. A new collaboration was born.
From Pivot Dance, a project for 6 producers, 6 choreographers and audiences, we started making the dance performance BECOMING. Together with our fantastic team of dancers, artists, designers and marketers. In the meantime, INNE premiered with audience and critics acclaim with The Inhabitants in the summer of 2016 at Operaestate Festival. In collaboration with Song of the Goat Theatre in Poland, ISLAND was created which is still touring in Poland and Europe.
This fall, BECOMING will premiere at the Dutch Dance Festival, B.Motion in Italy and The Place in London before travelling to theatres in The Netherlands. Iván will also create a new site-specific performance in Italy as part of Operaestate Festival at the open-air art gallery Arte Sella.
